PDP is a dead virus- Senator Husain

Says Defeat awaits Adeleke’s brother

The All Progressives Congress candidate for the Osun West senatorial by-election Senator Mudasiru Hussain has said that the advancement of his senatorial zone and the entire Osun is the driving spirit behind his ambition to return to the Upper chamber of the National Assembly.

Hussain who stated this in Iwo, the headquarters of the Osun West senatorial district, noted that the APC has shown well enough that it is the only political party that is determined to bail Nigeria out of social political and economic hardship.

The APC candidate had earlier visited Ede South, Ede North, Egbedore council areas which are part senatorial zone in furtherance of his mobilization of supporters for his ambition to return to the Senate.

The candidate had in 2015 relinquished his seat in the Senate for the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke who died in April this year.

Hussain had emerged as the candidate of the party after a primary election which however featured him as the sole candidate after the withdrawal of the younger brother of the late senator, Mr. Ademola Adeleke.

Hussain said that if anything, the Rauf Aregbesola administration in Osun has demonstrated what good governance is all about.

He said on the other hand, the Peoples Democratic Party, on the platform of which Adeleke is set to contest, brought Nigeria to her present predicament through its anti-people policies and its almost official kleptocratic tendencies.

“The government of this party APC is the only party through which you have seen that good governance is possible. In our state alone, we have seen what this party represents through the mega-schools, through the legacy roads, through school feeding, through other policies that show that it is the people that matter.

“On the other hand, you know what the PDP has taken us through in this country. We know that the PDP having lost the control of the Nigerian resources, has been running from pillar to post to regain relevance. Never will they find their feet on our soil again,” the APC candidate said.

Those who joined Hussain at the rally were the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, Speaker House of Assembly of Osun, Rt Hon Najeem Salam, Elder Peter Babalola, members of the House of Assembly from the zone and other political office holders.

Senator Husain acceptance speech

Acceptance Speech by Senator Mudashir Oyetunde Husain after winning the All Progressives Congress (APC) Primaries for the Osun West Senatorial District Bye-election on Wednesday, June 14, 2017.

I thank the Almighty Allah for making today a reality and a day of significance for our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), the people of Osun West Senatorial District and the people of the State of Osun in general.

The hostoric venue of the primary in Egbedore Local government is a further testimony of the life-changing developments of APC administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Before I advance further I must at this juncture crave our indulgence to rise and have a minute silence for our late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke....... May his soul rest in peace.

This honour for our brother is necessary because his death was painful to all of us and he will be forever missed.

We all have the moral burden, to advance democracy and good governance in our clime, this is my commitment.

It is to the public knowledge, that this contest was characterized by twists and turns, amongst which was my earlier disqualification by the Screening Committee of the party, which decision was upheld by the Appeal Screening Committee. However, as stipulated in the guildline of our party, the NWC upheld my further appeal to it as the body with power to make final verdict on the qualification of any candidate.

I believe in the oneness of our party, and I took the decision to use legal means to correct what I felt has been wrongly done by both the screening committee and the Screening Appeal Committee. Fortunately, thr National Working Committee of our party upheld our contentions. This is the beauty of democracy, especially in a political party like ours.

At this juncture, I want to appreciate the remarkable effort of our National Chairman,  Chief John Odigiwe- Oyegun, Governor Rauf Aregbesola and all the Leaders and members of APC throughout the country for their unflinching support. I especially thank all the delegates at this historic primary that further strengthen the progressive inclination of our party.

I appeal to all party faithful to always toe the line of obedience and submission to party leadership which I strongly believe is in tandem with democratic tenets, respect for the rule of the game,  and constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

May  I seize this medium to say that this  contest had provided a new leverage to add value to the life of our people

The turn out of this  primaries election exercise, as it were is a  victory,  hence we need to work together as a team to secure Ultimate victory for our party to win the bye-election, slated for July 8, 2017.

Our contenders, I mean the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), though scattered and disorganized, are looking for loopholes to ridicule us, but we must remain undivided so that we can all coast to victory at the election.

As I am returning to the Nigerian Senate after the July 8 bye-election, God's willing, I assure my party, the people of Osun West Senatorial District and the people of Osun in general that I will use the mandate to serve them by building on the successes I recorded when I was there between 2011 and 2015, and achievement recorded by our late Senator Isiaka Adeleke.

I thank you all for you attention as we approach July 8.

Senator Husain promises effective representation......

Senator Husain Promises Effective Representation....emerges APC Candidate

Senator Mudashir Husain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has expressed his commitment to the welfare of the people of Osun West Senatorial District in advancement of democracy and  good governance in the country.

Senator Husain stated this in his acceptance Speech shortly after Hon Sanusi Rikiji, who chaired the screening committee for the Osun West Senatorial District Bye-election declared him as the winner of the election.

Rikiji, an incumbent Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly announced that Hussein polled 2,412 out of 2,560 delegates who participated in the primary election on Wednesday, June 14, 2017

Senator Husain described his victory at the primary as significant for the All Progressives Congress (APC), the people of Osun West Senatorial District and the people of the State of Osun in General. The APC candidate maintained that the primary held at Egbedore Local is a further testimony of the life-changing developments of APC led administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Husain used the occasion to call for the observation of a minute silence in Honour of the late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke whose death he described as painful.

While appealing to all party faithful to always toe the line of obedience and submission to party leadership in tandem with democratic tenets, Senator Husain emphasized party supremacy at all times just as he reflected on circumstances that earlier surrounded his disqualification.

"It is to the public knowledge, that this contest was characterized by twists and turns, amongst which was my earlier disqualification by the Screening Committee of the party, which decision was upheld by the Appeal Screening Committee. However, as stipulated in the guideline of our party, the NWC upheld my further appeal to it as the body with power to make final verdict on the qualification of any candidate"

He then expressed appreciation to the National Chairman, Chief John Odigiwe-Oyegun, Governor Rauf Aregbesola and all the Leaders and members of APC throughout the country for their unflinching support leading to his emergence as the flag bearer for the rerun election.

"I believe in the oneness of our party, and I took the decision to use legal means to correct what I felt has been wrongly done by both the screening committee and the Screening Appeal Committee. Fortunately, the National Working Committee of our party upheld our contentions. This is the beauty of democracy, especially in a political party like ours."

Senator Husain tasked party members to work together as a team to secure ultimate Victory at the poll come July 8.

"Our contenders, I mean the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), though scattered and disorganized, are looking for loopholes to ridicule us, but we must remain undivided so that we can all coast to victory at the election."

He gave an assurance that if he is return to the Senate, he will effectively use the mandate to serve the people of Oṣun West Senatorial District and build on the successes he recorded when he was in the Senate between 2011 and 2015, and also build on achievement recorded by the late Senator, Isiaka Adeleke.

He was the lone candidate in the primary election following the withdrawal of his co-contestant, Dr Ademola Adeleke.

APC NWC cleared Sen. Hussain

Osun Bye-election: Aspirant Hails APC NWC for Restoring His Eligibility

An All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the Osun West Senatorial District bye-election, Senator Mudashir Hussein has lauded the National Secretariat of the Party for standing on the side of justice by upturning his disqualification from contesting for the primaries under the platform of the party.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, led by the Chairman, Chief John Odigiwe-Oyegun had upturned the decision of the Honourable Sanusi Garba Rikiji-led screening committee of the party, which disqualified Hussein on the ground that he has failed to resign his appointment as a Commissioner in Osun State before signifying intention to contest for the election.

The screening committee ratified the younger brother of the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, Ademola Adeleke as the unopposed candidate for the primaries of the party.

The former senator appealed his disqualification, arguing that he had already resigned his appointment, but the Appeal Panel dismissed his appeal and ratified the decision of the screening committee, the report of which was forwarded to the NWC for final decision.

According to Hussein, with the decision of the party which upturned his disqualification, it is now clear to the whole world that the APC is a party that respects the rule of the game and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“I must thank the Almighty Allah, the people of Osun, particularly the people of Osun West for their prayers and support to our course, inspite of the challenges that heralded my aspiration to return to the Nigeria Senate after the death of our respected late Senator Isiaka Adeleke”. He said.

“The decision of the leadership of our party has shown that the ruling APC, under the leadership of Odigiwe-Oyegun is a party to beat any day any time”.
He said the decision was a signal that the APC would emerge victorious at the poll.

Ajekun Iya syndrome

ADELEKE`S DEATH , NURUDEEN ADELEKE AND THE SYMBOLIC AJEKUN-IYA SYNDROME

Once again, may the Almighty Allah rest the soul of our departed elder statesman, former Senator and first civilian Governor of Osun State, Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke. May Allah grant Serubawon Al-Jannah Firdaws. May Allah overlook and forgive the shortcomings of De – Guv. And continually guide, protect and preserve everything he left behind. Ameen. Before now, it was like a titanic dream but more than ever, the reality has set in, Isiaka Adeleke is no more.

We would have falsely nursed the sour wound for a lifetime that somebody somewhere killed the Asiwaju of Edeland, and the bitterness coupled with the inordinate desire for vengeance will envelope our minds. But thank God for the coroner`s inquest set up by the government of the State of Osun to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of our beloved politician, one can now sleep comfortably knowing fully well that the application of injection and drug overdose complicated by his medical history, catalyzed by an incompetent nurse fastened the eclipse of Adeleke`s era on the surface of the earth. The visible incoherence and unprofessional utterances from Alfred Idowu Aderibigbe left more to be desired about the lackadaisical attitude and premium the late Adeleke placed on his health.

The striking facts and the sterling truth is laid bare, Serubawon did not die of any food poisoning. Unfortunately, close family members and unrepentant associates of the deceased know very well, if not all of them, Mrs. Dupe Adeleke – Sanni, Dr. Deji Adeleke and Mr. Dipo Faborode are hiding under self-delusion and compromising mechanism of pretense to either confuse or mislead the public over the demise of their patriarch. The unwarranted moves by the Adeleke dynasty of Ede to play retrogressive politics with the death of Senator Isiaka Adeleke is unislamic, condemnable, unpatriotic and a dishonour to the gentleman-politics played by the Late Chancellor of Adeleke University.

It is irritating and embarrassing to see disgruntled APC and some frustrated PDP members, who were arch enemies of the Ede politician while he was alive, those who molested him physically, desecrated his ideology and principles now mourning his exit more than the bereaved. In truth, it calls for retrospection and he deserves some form of respect even in death. This is mediocrity and sycophancy taken too far. More painful is the pettiness introduced to the 40days Fidau prayer, despite the free – giveaway of customized Ankara, it ended up in a wishy – washy affair. What a pathetic story

The Osun West Senatorial district ticket is not and can never be the exclusive right of the Adeleke clan from Ede. Then, it becomes laughable why few confusionists amidst the APC are projecting the candidature of one Mr. Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, what other presentable credential or antecedent does he possess, aside being a younger brother to Isiaka Adeleke? The pedestal set by representatives to the national assembly from state of Osun in the last 6years is not a recourse to “job for the boys” template. Can Dr. Deji Adeleke entrust his business empire and conglomerate in the hands of Ademola  Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke? If not, why will an enlightened senatorial district like ours be dropped like an ink in the hands of an opportunist and neophyte like Skelewu.

The economic and political machineries of the Late Adeleke is placed in the hands of greedy, accidental and circumstantial politicians. They have discovered a new ATM in Deji Adeleke, he has served as conduit pipes to satisfy their aching bellies, and they are bunch of deceivers. They have no iota of political relevance in their wards or local government as being potrayed. Their relationship with the Adeleke family today can never be symbiotic but parasitic in nature. They will leave, soon as their housefly cannot perch the healing wounds. Osun people are wiser than one can ever imagine, how will you blackmail the Aregbesola administration with uncouth tendencies publicly and clandestinely be waving the banner of sentiment over a rerun election because Ademola Adeleke is selfishly pursuing a cause. These new agents of doom will soil every inch of good name the Late Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke has carved for himself over time.

Beyond the theatrics and drama performed by the controversial Senator Dino Melaye on his widely circulated solo album titled “Ajekun Iya”, there are few lessons to be learnt by the Adeleke family in the shoot; hope they will not loose woefully on two or more fronts; losing a patriarch and political figure to the natural and cold hands of death, expending frivolously good fortunes and monetary values on political misadventure without precise direction and lastly soiling the reputation and integrity of the hard earned name, Adeleke which has been in existence since the 2nd republic. This calls for sober reflection and thoughtful engagement.

Isiaka Adeleke forever in our hearts

ISIAKA ADETUNJI ADELEKE: FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
BY OLUMIDE LAWAL

The First Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Isiaka Adetunji Alani Adeleke, came around as a distinguished Nigerian, who traversed the world like a colossus. This great personality, who was different things to different classes of people, was humility-personified. But essentially, Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke is a man of the people. He lived his life for them, and they in turn gave everything to appreciate the kind gestures he extended to them. This was shown by the fantastic show of sympathy and commiseration they extended to him when he transisted to glory on April 23, 2017.

My boss, brother, benefactor and great friend, was an accomplished man in all facets of life. This was one great personality that will forever be remembered for his large heartedness, milk of human kindness in his veins. A charming personality, very rare to come by among his peers. He loomed larger than life. He radiated elegance, charisma  and dignified carriage, that was second to none. I stand to be corrected.

Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke is simply Mr. generosity. A great administrator and astute politician, that played politics without bitterness. He abhorred violence all through his life. He came into politics to better the lives of the down-troden masses. He was never tired of doing that very cheerfully, until he breathed his last. To all those, who heard of his sudden death on April 23, 2017, it was a great disbelief and shock, and when the reality dawned on us all, it was a spontaneous flow of hot tears, that rolled out of the eyes of his teeming voiceless supporters, admirers and well-wishers.

Nigerians from all walks of life thronged Senator Isiaka Adeleke Ede country home, to bade him farewell. His unexpected transition but glorious exit and kingly burial on April 24 2017, was second to none in the anal of history  of eminent Nigerians in this part of the world. Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke good deeds to all manners of people while he was living, turned out to be great testimonies, that many believed have secured a place for him in Aljana Fridaous.

To those of us living, Senator Isiaka Adeleke is smiling in his grave, though we could not see him.

Whatever, were the unjust contedictory remarks by whomsoever, the fact remains, that the leader of Osun politics, that Senator Isiaka Adeleke was, had the world stands still for him in the course of his triumphant exit to the great beyond. It will remain a reference point forever. Even the atmospheric air stopped blowing momentarily. The creatures of all descriptions found themselves in awe of a departed hero of Osun politics.

Take it or leave it, many will testify to the fact, that there can never be another Isiaka Adeleke, at least in our own generation. I personally enjoyed an excellent working relationship with distinguished Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, spanning 25years, all of which were laden with successful career outing on my part as his media consultant. There was never a dull moment in our inter-personal relationship. I shall forever miss the sweet company of a great boss.

While he was the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke got me appointed as Executive Chairman, Directorate of Information, Public Relation and Think Tank in the Governor’s office, just by writing my appointment letter by long hand using a ruled A4 paper. That was the depth of friendship and trust, that existed between us.

I am not the only beneficiary of his kind gesture, many Ede indigenes, who are today Directors in the Local Government Service Commission of Osun State, would testify to how, Senator Isiaka Adeleke got them appointed into the Commission in a jiffy. He extended love and care to the less-priveledged in such a way that, you only need to knock at his door and you will leave happier than you came in. Such attestation has not stopped coming from thousands of such beneficiaries since his glorious transition. The Asiwaju of Edeland was a source of inspiration to the youth, many of whom he empowered for skills acquisition. A colorful politician of no mean repute, that Senator Isiaka Adeleke was, made many young people took a foray into partisan politics and became success stories in their own right. The sudden death of Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke has created a big vacuum in the political arena. He left a big shoe behind. Senator Isiaka Adeleke sojourn here on this transient world was remarkable and positively eventful, to the extent, that many had wished death should have spared him and take them away, so that he could continue with impacting resourcefully on the lives of the down-trodden masses of our people.

For the amiable, selfless and consummate politician, that Senator Isiaka Adeleke was, many will remember him as God-sent, the type of which are very rare to come by. Their type comes once in a generation. A thorough family man, Senator Isiaka Adeleke was an outstanding father and husband not only to his biological children, but to many outside there, whom he placed his generosity at their beck and call. The first executive governor of Osun State believed in the policy of live and let others enjoy life more abundantly. He lived a very humble but distinguished life as exemplified in his simple and non-materialistic acquisition of vain-glorious worldly materials. His Ede country home, is a home to all and sundry, whether low or mighty. Knock at his bedroom door and “come in” was always the next word from Senator Isiaka Adeleke. No privacy. His life and properties were for the people with whom he shared all without complaints. The man of the people deserves the best of accolades from all and sundry. The sweet memory of Senator Isiaka Adeleke lingers on reservedly and honorably in the hearts of his numerous admirers.

The mere mention of the name Isiaka Adeleke, will forever attracts tears to flow freely from the eyes of his teeming well-wishers from across the world. The First Executive Governor of Osun State, was first among equals in the political firmament of Osun State, no matter what anybody or group of people may want to say to the contrary. He carried a niche for himself. He employed his philantrophic gestures to make life worth living for countless numbers of people. He built the solid foundation on which Osun State stands today.

For the traditional forty days of mourning, it has been stream of symphatisers from across the globe, who were coming to give Senator Isiaka Adeleke the honour and respect that he richly deserved at death, because he lived his life for others to break even.

To his immediate family, I send deep condolence. For the traditional forty days of mourning, we shared together a moment of deep grief, which we bore with calmness and trust in God, believing strongly, that Almighty God is the greatest comforter and consoler. He shall not forsake the Adeleke family in particular and others outside there in general. God the ultimate healer of such a wound, occasioned by the sudden death of our own beloved Senator Isiaka Adeleke will bring succor to all of us, as we shall continue forever to remember him for all the good works he symbolized, while he was on this divide with us. An harmless, forthright, outstanding, loving and grassroot citizen of the world has gone to rest with his creator. Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, your dis-arming smile shall keep us going and strong.

In the words of Dr ‘Deji Adeleke, “with thanksgiving to Almighty God for a life well spent by our beloved son, husband and brother- Senator Isiaka Adeleke and in total submission to his supreme will, we leave everything to God and we rest our case”. This is very consoling. May God Almighty grant Senator Isiaka Adeleke, Aljanat Fridaous. Goodbye and goodnight, my boss, brother and great friend.
